Short Blog 8 — Statue Art

This is one of the forms of art on one of the more modern shopping areas in Thunder Bay. There is this one on the street and another similar statue standing farther down the street. Personally, I love these statues and I laugh every time I see them because I always think they’re real people. I’ll be driving down this street and I’ll see the one that’s standing and I always think it’s someone staring at me until I realize what it is and I can’t help laugh at myself. I also just think these statues are super unique and cool in their own way. They’re unusual and unlike any statue I’ve ever seen before and I feel like they’re personally related to Thunder Bay and they’re almost like guardians watching over us even though they look a little creepy. I think the best forms of art are the ones that are unexpected and sometimes make people a little uncomfortable.
